While it is true, government funding is often at the forefront of providing seed money for major projects (starting with Queen Isabella handing three ships and a compass to Columbus) it is fool hardy to think that GOVERNMENT is the mother of invention. More often than not, government is the bully that gets in on the ground floor, takes the credit, taxes the heck out of someone else's good idea and then squanders that money on social programs so idiots in their shorts on food stamps (or teaching foolish theories in classrooms) can make the comment I just read. It never fails to amaze me how the very people who produce and contribute the least to society and commerce are always at the forefront of demanding more from those who work and produce. As Mark LaVine might observe, get off of here you big dope.
