You are a bigger blow hard than I thought. You make statements and provide zero evidence. Do you think government started funding research in 1972? The majority of research that came out of WWII and the space race was performed by institutions of higher learning. Pure science is often not profitable, but without it we would not be able to have the standard of living we have today. Do you think private industry will spend hundreds of millions on non-profitable research and development? If you think so you are no business man. That has nothing to do with Marxism, it is pure Capitalism.

Part the deal of receiving federal funds for research is that you have to disclose all sources of funding that you have for research. In 2009 BYU spent $33 million dollars on research in total: $22 million from the federal government, $1.7 million from state and local government, $3.6 million from business, $876 thousand from Nonprofit organizations, $4.5 million from institutional funds and $158 thousand from all other sources. Notice there is no "hundreds of millions in private research grants." This is another unproven statement that you just pulled out of nowhere and you hope that because you write a whole lot words people will believe the lies that you are spewing. BYU could never accomplish what the U of U does in the science arena without taking government funds.

99.9% percent of peer reviewed science says the climate is getting warmer and that human activity is to blame. Maybe that is a religious conspiracy too. Scientists hate BYU and are keeping you down.

If you are a writer, and I say "IF", than there is no way you wrote for anything besides Bleacher Report. Your lack of fact checking is deplorable, I have not read one coherent arguement put forth by you. I hope that BYU students and alumni are smart enough to question your lies.
