We have a winner!!!
Add me to the list of diehard BYU FB fans who after 40 years of deeply caring, all of a sudden have become emotionally detached from BYU FB. The process started after watching the pathetic performance in the bowl game. It's not just the 4-game loss streak in which we are currently mired- to me the ugly signs were there last season, but really got ugly just before halftime of the Houston game. It's

1. The inability to prepare for a bowl game against an interim coach;
2. The emphasis on fireside preparation when that time should be spent preparing for games;
3. The inexplicable refusal to focus on the strengths/weaknesses of the opponent;
4. The failure to prepare for "rivalry" games;
5. The enormous amount of "dumb" penalties;
6. The selection of a clueless DC, and Bronco's inability to hire up-and-coming assistants;
7. The continued dropoff in recruiting performance;
8. The horrible home schedules for the next several years;
9. The inability to tackle;
10. The selection of stupid slogans and public over-hyping of "depth" and "talent" that set you up for failure;
11. The arrogance we've seen over and over from a program that is a shadow of it's former self, including the backward notion that somehow a recruit should have to sell himself to BYU, and not the other way around;
12. The dumb decision to repeatedly not maximize practice time, both in fall camp and bowl preparation
13. The ridiculous assertion that "the system" is somehow perfect but that execution is lacking.
14. The lack of NFL success from former BYU players (realizing that Ziggy was a wonderful player, but not someone who Bronco recruited).

The list goes on and on.

I anticipate attendance at the final 2 home games to be atrocious, which will make Bronco's seat a little warmer.

If we lose at MTSU I would anticipate that at least Howell will get fired within the week. The UNLV and Savannah State games are a given and so have no bearing. At Cal could be a massacre- as could the bowl game- and if the season ends poorly, I am confident season ticket renewals will be in the toilet. Although I doubt Bronco gets fired even with a 6-7 record, even with Taysom back, barring significant changes, BYU will be 0-4 out of the gate next year, and struggle to clear the 4-win barrier- and heaven help us if Bronco's contract is renewed.

I love the Sitake idea.
