We have had two other mission presidents attend as members our ward/branch along with many other GA's over the years that I've been here. Because we are the only English specific ward in Manila, we get a lot of visitors from all over the world. We have several family members a year visiting our ward as they are in the country to pick up their missionary or on their way home from other Asian missions and stop in Manila in route home. Both the MP's and the Area Presidency seems to embrace these families at church and the GA's often ask the visiting missionary and/or family members to bare a brief testimony during opening exercises of Priesthood. Doesn't seem to be discouraged at all here.
