Absolutely true. But these kids are also ground zero of where BYU can improve
If we're to improve our recruiting, it'll most likely have to be because we're getting types of athletes on whom we were missing previously. LDS kids, died-in-the-wool, completely-active or not, seem a pretty good place for BYU to start.

Kyle Van Noy--not total BYU lean from the get go, came to BYU, won us a bunch of games, and became the face of the program. We need more of him. Sure, so does everyone. But one would think that the strengths of the Sitake staff would lend to us getting more kids like Kyle more often.

I don't expect magic overnight. I think it'll take Kalani some time in the program to rebrand, develop relationships, and build a broad network of support.

But make no mistake, I do expect a talent infusion. Kalani's defense will depend on it. Either we get the talent boost that everyone hopes will accompany Sitake et al's recruiting prowess, or we're sunk. Probably in spectacular fashion. Bronco's system hedged against BYU's talent deficit. The scheme Sitake wants to emply will not.
