I have been a BYU recruiting aficionado since the days of mail order recruiting lists in the 80's.

I don't disagree that recruiting in the 2* group is very important, we are going to have more 2* recruits than blue chippers for a long time, but if you want BYU to get to the next level, we need to get a much higher % of the blue chippers that are starting at other universities i.e. USC that will have 4 of them, 2 of which are still to my knowledge very active LDS and are exactly the kind of kids that BYU should have a recruiting advantage with. Those 4 all contributed from their Fr. year @ USC and will likely start 3+ years and have legit NFL looks, which is why they were 4/5* kids when they came out of HS.
