If LaVell could get 75-80% of the LDS blue chip athletes, it should be possible again, BYU still offers LDS athletes something that isn't available anywhere else, and Sitake and the staff he put together is likely one of the best possible choices to try to regain the same success rate BYU once had.
I am trying to be realistic and expect closer to 50% success rate in the beginning of the Sitake regime, but accepting your premise, well, BYU may as well petition to rejoin the MWC and give up any hope of B12 aspiration if we don't think we can compete with big dogs for LDS recruits.
