To be certain - with this new policy we are now, without question, the school with the best policies in place regarding
sexual assault.
We're not only leading in how we handle things after an assault has occurred, but more importantly, we are now leading in how we prevent the assaults from occurring in the first place.
Other schools claim that safety is a top priority, yet they are unwilling/unable to make rules to ensure that more are safe.
This is how we lead:
1. No coed dorms.
2. No Greek system.
3. No alcohol (on or off campus).
4. Promote a "no means no" culture.
I don't agree with BYU on everything honor code related, but it's clear now that when it comes to the safety of women NO SCHOOL does it better. (and for a guy like me who has three daughters, safety maters).
Co Cougs (and thanks for your leadership on this Pres Worthen)
