how do those conversations go?
"I am so afraid of getting sexually assaulted. Then I'd get in trouble with the HC office!"
"I'm not sure I want to go to that party. What if I get assaulted?! I wouldn't be able to report it because then I'd get in trouble with the HC office for drinking!"
"I hope I never have to report anything to the HC office. I don't want to get in trouble."
Seriously, you obviously have experience in these conversations. I edited those a few times to make it seem less demeaning to those making those comments. Educate me on how those conversations happen. And remember, these are conversations among girls who haven't yet been assaulted but are making decisions based on their fear of getting in trouble with the HCO if they report something that happens to them while being in a situation that puts them in jeopardy with the HCO.
The second part of your argument I get. I don't deny that there will probably be an increase in reports. It's sad that girls felt they couldn't report abuse and assault.
