They have gotten us ranked in the Top 25, media support, and exposure.
Again, Utah and TCU were elevated to a P5 conference because they WON and they won in a G5 conference.
This is a proven method of making it. If a P5 conference doesn't want BYU because of what we stand for, then it doesn't matter where we play. But we may as well give them the best product to choose from and that is winning program on the field, a consistently ranked program, and one that can win the big game against a P5 every so often.
