Especially in places where geography limits growth like Seattle or the Wasatch Front. It’s always striking to me flying into SLC it appears that roughly half the usable land seems taken up by roads and parking lots. It also seems like a tremendous price to pay for the supposed convenience of living in a car-centered metropolis (and that’s not even considering the smog).
Either the area will become completely unaffordable for the vast majority of the next generation (SF style which has done a horrible job of managing growth) or it will find ways to accommodate density.
