You have to look at it from a $$$ perspective. Parking spots make $0 for
developers. If the city says they need to double their parking, then developers are less likely to actually build, as their profits will now dip. If they dip too far then no more developments. Land is finite.

Personally, I like high density housing around the Frontrunner or Trax stations up in Salt Lake. Now that we have the BRT line in Orem/Provo perhaps we'll start to see some smart developments near those stations.
