It's mostly because students were complaining they had to camp all week

Also to make it more controlled and have less line cutters and such, BYU Police and the AD decided to try having it only one day of camping. Saving students time during the week, as well as not having complaints by neighbors and having the line watched over all week by the police. They are trying something new so we shall see how it works, and if there is enough feedback, they will continue to keep trying to tweak it
