This is after hours and hours of deliberation. The university was tired of having event staff enforce rules starting SUNDAY NIGHT for a game that wasn't until the next saturday night. The student body was being discouraged by the kids already camping out, preventing more kids from camping out the night before, because the line was already wrapped around the stadium. PLUS, sponsors come and do fun things for the ROC line. We get pizza brought in, soccer and football team come say hi, giveaways, door prizes and things like that. This allows all of that to be condensed into an absolutely wild 24hrs FILLEd with food, prizes and a dance party.
Gonzaga does this for basketball and its great. That was a main influence for the changes.
BUT WAIT THERES MORE: you can show up to the stadium 30 minutes after the cougar walk and still get 5th row or even better in some spots.
This is literally helping the students focus on work and school, especially those with lives, rather than enable freshman to camp all week.
PLUS this is 110% better than the lottery system. don't get me started on that.
