are excited by athletics and would go to great lengths to get good seats/have the fun experience of camping out and the more you try to regulate it the worse it is going to be, not the better.

Reminds me of the time they said we couldn't camp for the BYU vs SDSU game when we were #5 and SDSU was #3 iirc. The games that season were crazy due to Jimmermania and so lines/camping for days before the game wasn't uncommon. Before the showdown against SDSU they told us we couldn't camp/line up, but that we had to collect our wrist bands a few days before the game (IIRC) to get in.

We all lined up to get the wrist bands and someone came out and told us we couldn't line up for the wristsbands, seeing as the whole point of the wrist bands was to avoid a line.

So we all just stood there in an unorganized mob. When the geniuses handing out the wrist bands and making the policies decided that wasn't going to work they made us line up again, and (this is where it gets real good) then they said lines werent allowed AGAIN!

We formed a mob again, and they had campus police there to keep the peace and several people, myself included, were told by the police if we didn't shape up we would get arrested. HAHA it was such a mess, and those campus police were on a serious power trip.

Finally they had us form a semi-coherent line, and we got wrist bands.

Fortunately after the SDSU debacle they allowed us to camp and line up for the rest of the games that season, seeing as their brilliant plan didn't work as they expected. I have probably never seen an event more poorly mismanaged than that in my whole life, and to be honest I doubt it will ever be surpassed. Every single BYU employee was so inept in their attempted handling of the situation it was laughable.
