What is it that BYU's done of significance in the last 5 years? Nothing... nada... zip! Nothing in the last 5, 10, or 15 years? Heck, we really haven't done anything at all since 2001... and even that was kind of a ridiculous season. The last season we did anything of significance on the national stage... was 1996. 22 freaking years ago.

That's a big deal... Utah popped off 2 undefeated seasons, after not doing anything in 40+ years... and made their way into the PAC. TCU, who was a SWC outcast... rattles off 1 undefeated season, and 3 1 loss seasons... boom, they are in the BIGXII... after BYU pushed away from the table.

If we could just do what Boise State has done... check that, if we could do what NIU has done, we'd be a significant player again on the national stage. But we won't be... ever. So long as we continue to have this arrogant pride about what we think we are, instead of facing the reality of who we really are. We are a very mediocre Independent team. Even the most successful Independent team, Notre Dame, has had to lock arms with a conference to make Indy work. Were out here high fiving like we just won the lottery. Independence flat out sucks... it sucks worse than G5.
