Hostile Utah games are, for the most part, quite entertaining
To be clear, my BYU fan-ness has waned in recent years. I still love BYU football, however, as I am not an alumni, some BYU graduates have felt it important to try and point out their perceived moral/educational superiority (Born and raised a BYU fan, but am a Wolverine/Sun Devil/Thunderbird Alum). As such, my interest in Utah and other schools has increased somewhat, and I have gone from violent dislike of Utah to moderately impressed. Still cheer for BYU, except when they play UVU or ASU (looking forward to the ASU matchup in the coming years).

Had the following happen (same game in 2008):

--We were bull rushed by a group of Utah fans, who came at us swinging all sorts of stuff. There was much cursing of BYU, Mormons, etc. They ran right up to us like they were going to hit us or tackle us and then ran off giggling. We thought they were pretty silly, and were clearly drunk. The weird, silly giggling was, in particular, really funny.
--A beautiful, young Utah student walked right up to my dad where he was sitting in his BYU gear and poured her drink right in his lap, telling him to F-off.
--By halftime, we were getting our butts kicked and most of the Utah fans were deliriously happy, some of them had their happiness clearly enhanced by alcohol. All violent, hateful comments from Utah fans were gone by this point, having been replaced by false pity and sarcastic commiseration. I went in to the bathroom and was surrounded by a sea of red. One particularly drunk fellow was at the urinal next to the one where I was waiting in line. He looked back, saw me and tried to turn and give me a conciliatory hug with his pants around his ankles. I appreciated the sentiment, but not the fact that he was still in the process of draining his bladder. Fortunately, all of the spray was absorbed by other Utah fans around him. I patted him on the shoulder and directed him back to the urinal.
--by the fourth quarter, we were done, and decided to get out while most of the Utah fans were still celebrating in the stands. about half the BYU fans had the same idea and we were all cursed at and jeered at as we left.
--as we were leaving, we were accosted by one member of the BYU marching band who called us traitors for leaving. I would have been more angry had it not been for the snot trails running down his face (it was a really cold night), forming a booger moustache around where his tuba mouthpiece had been on his lips. I told him to wipe his nose and then walked off.
