Because, while being outrageous might get you more looks on twitter, all it gets you from the LDS church is an eye roll. It identifies you and someone who is cuckoo, incapable of reasonable thought or discussion, and leads to everything you have to say being dismissed.

If she was really interested in furthering the role of women in the LDS church, she should've dropped the caricature.

All of those folks who maybe started out as reasonable people with concerns or ideas for improvement and then go off the deep end in order to get more attention - end up being dismissed by the people they need to attract the most if they want to actually effect change.
