You seem to have personally assigned "sitting on the stand" and "presiding" as a big deal, and so you think being a Bishop is a huge thing.  Or that, extending callings is a "bigger deal" than someone doing something else.

If you didn't think it was a big deal, you would probably care a lot less. 

Someone has to conduct the meetings, and preside----I guess some people think it is a huge deal.  Other people don't care.

Being the Bishop is no more prestigious than being the guy whe sets up chairs, or the Girls Camp director.  Couldn't care less.
