This is the most reasonable Ute take I've seen to far. None of that "Utah's TEs are amazing and it's a wash with BYU."

Though I'd have to say with LBs, I doubt Utah looks any better depth-wise. LB is probably BYU's most well-recruited position right now, outside of OL. There's a ton of talent. They might be young, but that's the only question mark, not talent. Depth also isn't as big of a concern when you factor in how much nickel they're likely to run this year. So if BYU frequently has 2 LBs, any combination of Anderson, Kaufusi, Ah You, Tooley, J Kaufusi, and Latu should be more than enough.

I don't think Lee leaving Utah as a young player has anything to do with his talent and skill level right now. And I'm pretty sure it was about more than being buried on the depth chart. Any young guy off a mission would understand they're not going to be way up the depth chart at a school that not only has top talent consistently, but fills with JC guys often. Would he start at Utah this year? I don't know. Maybe not. But I'm not as impressed with some of Utah's guys as some say I should. I didn't think Guidry looked awfully good vs BYU, but I shouldn't judge him on one game.
But they're not missing anyone as far as I know, and BYU is missing Wilcox, so unfortunately that might change how they play Dayan G. But I'm glad BYU is finally doing what so many thought simply couldn't happen at BYU.

I feel like RB depth is just as iffy for Utah as BYU. There's not a lot we can say about either right now. When both of Utah's partial-year QBs had more yards than any other RB on the roster, it's hard to say what they've really got right now. Utah could really suffer if Moss goes down again, or they could be just fine. It's just totally unknown right now. BYU has more production on their roster than Utah does outside of Moss. So they need him.
