They only hold whatever meaning we assign them...
They don't mean any more than any other wins unless we all agree that they mean more, it is really whatever the majority of the fanbase decides means the most that actually means the most.
I'm kind of a center dweller on this subject. On the one side I do miss playing in a conference, winning a conference title, having an all conference team, etc. there are definitely things about that setup that are fun and interesting.
But I also look at a schedule like this years and I have to be honest, it looks a lot more entertaining to me than playing New Mexico, Wyoming, CSU and UNLV.
It is what it is so I'm going to enjoy this year (hopefully).
