I'm still pretty new here but have seen several posts. Can someone explain the support? The Church "strongly discourages" surgical sterilization, including vasectomy (Handbook 2 21.4.15) but birth control decisions rest solely on the couple.
So is sterilization chosen over other options because it's so personal that folks discount direction, that most people don't even know there's counsel out there, or something else? I'm guessing it's seems like the easiest, most permanent solution for a couple. I honestly want to hear from multiple sides and not trying to attack those who've done it or are considering it. Thanks.
