If I've been snipped, my wife dies, and a new wife wants kids....
It's sort of one of those "too bad, so sad. But you'll live" situations. If I had a sufficient number of children already, why would I want more with a new wife? Especially if I was say, 42,43 years old? My existence consists of more than just being ready to father children on demand at any stage of life.

Using the "but what if your wife dies" argument is a bit of a slippery slope. What if my new wife doesn't like my car color? Or my house? Should I not buy a car or a house, just in case the new wife comes in and wants something else?
