I think the bigger issue is there aren't LDS coaches worth paying more
by that I mean, their experience and market price wouldn't require paying more. I feel pretty certain that if someone like Andy Reid wanted to coach at BYU, we could find the money to do it. The Church doesn't cut checks to the Athletic Department ... they are self-sustaining. So they would just need to get boosters to step up. Which I think they would for the right coach.
