People aren't upset that the refs missed a call.. They are upset that Gilmore stated that it was PI, but that it shouldn't have been called any way.
Either it is PI or it isn't. If the refs missed it, fine... If they saw it and thought it was mutual combat...fine. But if they are interjecting their own personal feelings that we shouldn't be passing the ball in the 3rd qtr, and that makes them swallow the whistle, that's a problem. It's not the refs job to make BYU call off the dogs.
Would that have been PI on BYU at that point in the game? Yes it would have.
