I'm betting that a bigger problem is young marrieds see their middle class parents owning large homes and think
that they, even at their young age, are entitled to the same. Maybe they look down on their parents or think they're better educated...but many lack the patience and just want to jump ahead 10+ years without putting the effort.

Blame boomers all you want but many bought houses at 9% to 13% interest rates.

They probably think it's amazing that young couples get the benefits of cheap financing.
