I took my kid to urgent care a couple years ago because he had snorted a marble

up his nose. The Urgent care doc (NP maybe?) came in for 2 seconds, shined a light in his nose and sent us to the ER. We waited in the ER for a long time, whereupon a nurse brought us back and used some homemade contraption to dig the marble out in a few seconds.

Of course we got a bill for the UC visit and a separate bill from the UC doc as well as the massive bill from the ER.

I was pissed

You should be pissed. Nasal foreign body is something any urgent care should be able to handle.

I usually had parents mad they brought them to me in the UC when I just had them blow in the mouth and it popped out.

my opinion: mid-levels who have direct supervision by an MD do fine. mid-levels who have no supervision are often lost
