Maybe what you’re seeing is that NPs are trending younger, as it is an
increasingly popular career choice. Young providers no matter what type - pa/np/md - are much worse. The variance in quality for NPs is also much higher, so as NPs increase it is easier to notice the outlying poor performers. I don’t have any data to back up my anecdotal observations above, but it seems I’m seeing lots of new NPs.


The NPs at my hospital are pretty good. Except for constantly prescribing Wellbutrin for anxiety.
