The problem is that she appeared to know this during the qualifications
If she broke her ankle during the qualifications another athlete would have gone in her place. She took someone's spot who is better than her that day and today.
I don't think it's her fault though, I think it's the fault of the judges and the team managers who glossed over her poor performance during qualifications because of who she is. They placed a bet, thought she was just having a bad day but was still the better choice. They lost the bet.
