I believe this highlights how far we need to go with mental health awareness. It is entirely still stigmatized. It is not the same as a physical ailment and isn’t treated nearly the same.

Conley sits for weeks because of a hammy/calf strain, but we aren’t allowing anyone to sit for mental strain?

Why don’t we criticize athletes for not stretching properly whenever they pull a muscle. We are all aware how lazy players are during warm ups and stretches. I see it all the time at every level. When they strain something or pull something we just let it go as bad luck. Where’s the accountability for not putting in the time or taking the initiative to get things straight?

We need to accept that there are mental health issues and encourage stronger mentality in advance and not judge when people pull a mental muscle and need time to recover.
