You can be tremendously talented at something with absolutely otherworldly
physical traits that can make you a champion. But that doesn’t also mean that you are mentally tough. Lebron and KD are athletic marvels with the highest level of skills but I wouldn’t attribute mental toughness to either of them.
Kerri Strug wasnt nearly as talented as Simone Biles… no one would argue that. But she seems to have more mental fortitude. Sorry that these observations upset you. I don’t think people are attacking Biles, I think they are questioning whether something has changed in aociety that makes athletes like Naomi Osaka, Biles, Kylie Irving, etc. more susceptible to performance anxiety.
