The AAC, perhaps encouraged by ESPN,
contacted up to 5 existing Big 12 members and, according to some, indicated that the conference was as good as dead, and they (AAC) might be able to accommodate some of them.
Such arrogance served to bolster the resolve of the Big 12 schools.
The AAC now has a big target on its back. Strategically, it makes sense for the Big 12 yo poach some of their schools. The revenge factor cannot be overlooked.
After this is over, the AAC may be battling the Sun Belt for relevance.
