will find appealing. Conversely, if the B12 expands to the East there is Memphis, Cinci and UCF just waiting there (all of whom have also been better, more recently, than BYU). Houston probably isnt their first choice but it could round out the four additions. Also, WVU is in the East, so if you have to pick a direction to expand that makes more sense than to go west.
I’m hoping that the B12 sees an opportunity to go both east and west and thinks big, even if it means slightly less money up front. Add six teams: BYU, Boise, CSU/AFA, Memphis, Cinci and UCF. Create two east/west divisions, sign a short term TV deal after 2025 and try to grow it into something that matters ten years from now.
What I’m worried they will do is add two “safe” teams like Cinci and Memphis just to stabilize things back to ten and then milk the UT/OU buyouts and remaining TV money for all its worth, hoping that something better materializes between now and 2025.
