causes Boise State not to be invited. It's such a weird matter of pride for them. Yet, all things being equal, I'm sure it could very well be a deal killer.
The conference that selects them is going to have to sell TV rights for 4-6 games every year on that ugly blue field. It absolutely diminishes the value of those games. Casual fans surfing sports channels are always going to prefer the game that is on a normal green field that doesn't hurt their eyes. It hurts viewership ratings and thus ultimately advertising revenue.
That blue field is such a red flag in so many ways. A fan base that values it like they do clearly must have a distorted value system. It screams out of touch.
