Oklahoma with 3.9M residents can support two P5s with some leftovers for Tulsa

But Idaho with 2M can't support one team? Also, if that's your argument, the state of Utah is a worse bet than others (since it has to support Utah and BYU).

Actually if you're just trying to maximize local population per P5, BYU makes for a terrible choice. You'd probably go San Diego St, San Jose St, UNLV, and probably New Mexico, maybe Colorado St

Which would be a really bad slate of teams to add
