Fact is, they were won, and everybody knows it. NCAA rule and legal infractions don't really change it.
Not saying I like it. At all. But punishing a program or individual later down the road doesn't change what they accomplished on the field/court.
Does Reggie Bush 'have' a Heisman? No. But, did he win the Heisman? Yes. He sure did. He's a Heisman winner no matter what quibbling people want to employ. Did it keep him from getting a job in the NFL? No.
Maybe that would be a more effective punishment - for the NFL to agree to not hire a 'convicted' cheater, or the players from a cheating program for a period of time. But, THAT AIN'T NEVER GONNA HAPPEN, at so many levels, for so many reasons.
