Absolutely agree...so many wins left on the table in 2014 because of coaching
And you are right we were so lucky to have Stewart, I just couldn't believe that the coaches seemed unaware of how capable and even GOOD he was at running the shotgun/spread offense and didn't adjust until after several losses.

That Howell experiment was awful, too, and it seemed like we had seen this issue over and over with Bronco with the DC position.

When it comes to rebuilding a decent program that has tradition and values but has fallen into a slump, Bronco could be one of the best, if not the best rebuilding coaches in the country. When it came to philosophy and talent management and recruiting and coaching hires, it gets sketchy. It's almost like he believed that his superior systems and programs were sufficient to run themselves and whoever he hired or promoted didn't really matter as long as they just followed his system. He seemed to reward people he liked and who were loyal to him with positions without much regard to their qualifications and then was very stubborn in making changes. Of course, he DID make changes, but usually after it was much too late.

Love the guy...I really do...if he could just get out of his own way I really believe he could be one of the elite coaches in the country, maybe history...he has that about him, something spectacular, just seems like he needs a really solid mentor, likely at the AD position, to push him upward and to reach his potential. The potential with Bronco is sky high. I've always believed that. But the dude is stubborn and a little too delusional, lol. Too bad.
