You have a long time OU guy here in Gundy and you have a new HC
That tells me there’s probably more to this. OU brought back Venables and didn’t give the job to Gundy.
There’s probably tension between them, as would very normally be the case.
Maybe the incident happened as Gundy describes and maybe he feels like he’s not getting enough support from the new HC in putting it to bed. So he bails and makes the new HC look like the bad guy. It’s a reason to get out of a situation he doesn’t like anyway.
Who knows, but i could see that or something along those lines being the case. My guess is that there’s more to it.
