The point is, there is no system that does better at helping the poor
The transfers of wealth from the rich to the poor (government transfers) are part of the equation as well. The challenge in my mind is how many try to dismiss the progress made for goal that is always over the cognitive horizon so to speak. There is no system that does better and the poor are much better off than in any time in history. does that not mean anything? Can the progress not be celebrated?

Obviously we don't want the progress for the poor to start to go in reverse but wouldn't changing the system up create that possibility much more than keeping the system that has done better than any other?
