No reason at all for a 4th grader to have a phone. And when you finally do get
a teenager a phone, disable Safari and any apps with backdoor internet portals with a password lock.
Big problems that can come from young kids and teens having unsupervised internet access. In my opinion, you'll hear people say all kinds of things like "well, they need to learn while they are young to responsibly manage it." No, they don't. The risks are far too great and it's way to easy to get sucked into porn and a whole myriad of other things when access is that easy.
