..coaches are putting in the effort to cast a wide net for both LDS and non-LDS players that might be a good fit at BYU.

They offered and were in the running for 4 star LDS recruit Keanu Dawes from Texas however when most of their recruiting base is LDS and those players are located in Utah or Idaho guess what...they can't ignore them.

Recent/current LDS players at BYU that played high school ball in Utah include Yoeli Childs, TJ Haws, Zac Seljaas, Dalton Nixon, Dallin Hall, Richie Saunders etc all big time difference makers or central pieces in their rotations at BYU. BYU coaches would've heard no end to the complaining from fans if they had ignored LDS players in their own backyard like the ones listed above and they ended up at Utah or Utah St or left Utah to play elsewhere.
