It's pretty bad that the NCAA recognized McMahon before BYU.

BYU has 6 players in the College Football Hall of Fame, 5 of them QBs. McMahon has been there since 1999, 15 years go.

BYU has only 2 QBS who have started and won SBs. Steve Young was inducted into the CFB HOF 7 years after McMahon.

McMahon set BYU on a path to winning the 1984 NCAA championship. Prior to the 1980 Holiday, BYU had never won a bowl game. They were 0-0 before Edwards, and 0-4 in the 1970s under Edwards. McMahon won the 1980 Holiday in one of the most amazing comebacks ever. He then came back and won the 1981 Holiday Bowl against another nationally ranked team.

He lead what maybe the greatest NFL team to a 15-1 record and a lopsided win in SB XX. He helped make Mike Ditka a legend.

For him not to be in the BYU HOF is just a joke. Other than Steve Young, no athlete has brought more acclaim to BYU sports than McMahon.
