Uhhh, he basically blew off all of his classes that fall. He would have been

on academic suspension, forced to sit out a year, and re-apply for admission. He chose not to go through the hassle.

All he had to do was pass his classes that semester and there would have been no issue, but he chose to take incompletes instead.
