It is a popular notion for those who love Jim and his legacy, and feel the

timing of the policy change targeted him.

The fact that Jim publicly flaunted his disregard for the honor code rankled some people, but there is no confirmed link to the two.

Besides, Jim's downfall was blowing off his classes that last fall, which would have put him on academic suspension, i.e. kicked out of school for at least one year.
