I'm almost there myself. I don't watch a lot of TV other than BYU games, a few
other college football games (bowl games) and the Walking Dead on AMC. Oh...and maybe another 40-50 hours of BYU Basketball. But, I can watch a lot of those on BYU-TV anyway. Nobody in the house watches TV except my 16 year old son who watches the BYU games with me.

So, the upgrade I need to get all the channels for BYU football costs me $85/month. I realized recently that i'm paying right at $1000 a year to watch 11 BYU football games (one on BYUTV every year) and, largely, to be very frustrated watching the games.

I was just thinking this past weekend that I should cancel cable and just go to friend's house to watch the games. I'll take $25 worth of pizza and snacks for each game. Thus, I put up $300 for food for the year vs. $1000 for the year to watch us on cable as we under-perform.
