There are many who matter (I know this because Bronco is still the HC), that base the "success" of this program not so much on wins and losses, but rather on a different criteria not measured by other P5 schools... to your point.
Which creates for me, a unique paradox - Bronco claiming a goal is winning a National Championship : Bronco claiming a goal is to maintain a minimal sacrifice balance model that at its core, undermines the very proven root practices it takes win a National Championship.
Bronco spoke directly to the media and blasted other college coaches for sacrificing too much for the game of football and refused to allow his coaches to be trapped into that level of commitment and sacrifice...
It is a noble stance... but one that could only be made at an institution like BYU.... without getting your butt fired, after posting multiple and "successful" 5 loss seasons
