It says something about Mormons if such a large group has no issue with the overstepping of gospel standards being imposed by a modern day Sanhedrin type group.
What does it say? I'm not sure if you would think it is good or bad.
You can interpret it as a good characteristic because it shows the faith in leadership and act the part of the meek, child-like follower of Jesus Christ.
Or you can interpret it as bad because it shows the lack of questioning and searching for answers and personal revelation on an individual level.
But you should not assume that the only people who have a problem with this are those who have had personal issues with it. It seems everytime I question some standard or rule I am assumed to be a sinner or miscreant. I can and do follow rules but do question and decide for myself which are the Lord's and which are of men.
