another way to cover up for poor pass protection is getting rid of the ball on..
...time which isn't a strength of Taysom's. Any offensive line will look bad if the QB holds the ball too long, just like any secondary will look bad if the front 7 can't get any pressure on the QB.

We all know Taysom's ability to stretch plays with his feet was a well developed trait of his but every well-developed trait creates a corresponding less developed trait as a result that can hinder productivity. In Taysom's case, holding the ball too long and moving around makes it difficult for the OL to hold onto blocks (leads to holding calls) and because they don't have eyes in the backs of their helmets they're at a disadvantage when he's moving around because they can't see how to leverage the DL or use his momentum against him, etc.

If Taysom was a QB like John Beck the OL would've looked a heckuva lot better because he would've been getting rid of the ball consistently in a fraction over 2 seconds and been accurate hitting WR's on the numbers just as they make their turn (but before the defense could close) and the OL wouldn't have needed to maintain blocks on guys for 4-5 seconds or longer. Not only would the OL have looked better but imo the WR group would've looked better too.
