I agree with this post.
I think that BYU athletics can be good for the church and I also think that BYU is a very good school, but is not for everyone (me for example - and yes I was accepted to BYU and chose Utah).
As a member of a very heated rivalry and as someone who participated on an athletic team at Utah, I at times may revel a bit in BYUs troubles (athletically speaking - I never enjoy the HC issues), but for the most part I appreciate the successes (especially in some of the non-revenue sports where the venom of the rivalry is less).
While I don't wish for BYU sports to go away, I do think it is a possibility depending on where NCAA athletics go in the next years.
