In a perfect world, everybody would be highly paid.

My post was to highlight the point that it's not just teachers that deal with brats and their parents. You'd be surprised how little pediatricians earn, on average, and how much student debt they carry around for the label, "Dr." next to their names.

More trenchant is the fact that most teachers are paid by the public; most pediatricians are not. Sometimes market forces determine what is fair. That might also be the situation with teachers as well.
